An enlivening sculpture series offering an intriguing and humorous take on the many different ways that we try to keep on top of life as it undulates beneath us.
Small sculptures of people riding on dynamic “Bouncing O’s”, with a movement somewhere between that of a space-hopper and the blobs inside a lava lamp.
These people are bouncing along on their O's, whose motion feels like being carried in the weightlessness of viscus liquid. This means they can bounce to great heights without fear and then drop down to bounce again, which allows for limitless expression.
This is a series of four sculptures that are available either together or separately. They are made of a beautiful translucent British eco-resin, so that the figures are creamy in colour, reflecting the colour of the wax that they were originally made in, and the O's are vibrant blue. The translucent material allows for interesting glimpses through to the armature, or internal structure of the sculptures. They are mounted on individual semi-translucent, almost black, flat acrylic bases. They are 55cm long all together, 36cm tall, and 11cm wide including the bases, and for sale as a limited edition of 24. The sculptures are each initialled on the right side of the bottom of the O’s, and come with a signed letter of authentication, stating the edition number. See my further listings to purchase them individually.
The sculptures are robust and can withstand small knocks and movements in the home. I package them in a sturdy cardboard box and they travel very well by courier. Please feel free to send me a message with any questions - there is a link to my email at the bottom of each page.
Thank you so much for your interest in this sculpture.
