An intriguing and humorous sculpture of tiny people rolling along on brightly coloured wheels.
The O-Riders are energetically pedalling their wobbly O’s, with their bulbous, squashy tyres. They are working hard to balance themselves and to keep up with each other, rolling along on their journey together.
A humorous set of characters that plays with our tendency to get involved with fairly ridiculous activities by convincing ourselves that they are essential…
O-Riders is made of a beautiful British eco-resin which has allowed me to play with these three bright colours that add life and vibrancy. The darker colour of the riders counters the almost glowing O’s, and introduces a narrative between the three connected characters. They look particularly vibrant when placed with the light coming from behind them.
The sculpture is mounted on a black flat acrylic base, and is 14cm long, 8cm tall, and 8cm wide including the base. It is for sale as a limited edition of 24. It is initialled on the bottom of the back of the red O, and comes with a signed letter of authentication, stating its edition number. It is robust as well as lightweight, and can withstand small knocks and movements in the home. I package it in a sturdy cardboard box and it travels very well by courier.
